Come join us December 29 - 31, 2023 for
the 800 year anniversary celebration of Greccio!
In the year 1223, St. Francis of Assisi created a live nativity scene to share the story of the Incarnation with the people of Greccio. It became an instant success and is continued today when we place the nativity set under our Christmas tree.
Join us at Mount St. Francis Center for Spirituality as we unpack this history making event. From December 29-31, 2023 join Franciscans from all 3 First Order Branches, Franciscan Sisters, and Secular Franciscans and nourish your soul as we explore and encounter the Light that entered the world for our salvation.
Featured speakers are Fr Jack Clark Robinson, OFM with excepts of St. Francis by Thomas of Celano, Dennis Feece OFS will speak on Gifts - What we bring to Greccio, and What we take from Greccio. There will be opportunities for prayer and litugy together as well as times for quiet reflection.On Saturday evening we will use Fr Michael Lasky's OFM, Conv. publication of Greccio and the O Antiphons, Creating Your Nativity Scene with Pope Francis as we recreate the Nativity Scene and walk the journey on our grounds.
For those flying to the Mount for this weekend the Louisville International Airport
is just 20 minutes away and the closest airport.
Check-In Friday, December 29 is from 4:00 - 6:00 PM
Light Supper at 6:00 PM, Friday
Weekend ends with Sunday Mass at 12:00 Noon
